Day 1 – Day of Departure
Today you will depart for Madrid, Spain.
Dinner and breakfast are served on board.
Day 2 – Madrid
Upon arrival, you are met by a Bravo representative and transferred to your hotel. Dinner and lodging.
Day 3 – Madrid + Prado Museum
Breakfast and a morning panoramic tour seeing the Plaza de España, the Puerta del Sol, Gran Vía, the Puerta de Alcalá, the Plaza Mayor, and more.
This is followed by a
guided visit to the Prado Museum. In the
afternoon, you are free to explore Madrid on your own. Dinner and lodging at
Day 4 - Toledo
Breakfast,. Then, on to the city of three cultures to see the Christian, Islamic, and Jewish roots of Spain - the Cathedral, Santo Tomé Church, El Greco’s “ the Burial of Count Orgaz,” the Synagogue of Santa María la Blanca, the famous view, and then stop at a damasquinado factory to view how this famous artwork is produced. Today you will have lunch included and afterwards you will have some free time before returning to Madrid for dinner and lodging.
Day 5 – Seville
Breakfast followed by a transfer to the train station for a ride on Spain’s high-speed train – the AVE. You will arrive in the capital of Andalusia in about two and one-half hours. Upon arrival, you will be met by our rep and taken on a tour of this marvelous city. You will see the Alcázar, its gardens, the Cathedral, the Giralda, María Luisa Park, and the Santa Cruz Quarters. Lunch is included. Afterwards, you will be transferred back to the train station for your AVE return to Madrid where you will be taken to your hotel for dinner and lodging.
Day 6 – Cooking Class
After breakfast you will be taken to a local market to help in the purchase of food items that you will use when you are taught, by a local chef, how to make a typical Spanish meal – paella and flan. This is a hands-on experience – so after shopping, on to the kitchen to learn how to prepare this scrumptious meal. Pay attention, your lunch today is what you made. The remainder of the day is free. Dinner and lodging in your hotel.
Day 7 –
Ávila and Segovia + Flamenco and Tapas
After breakfast, depart for the medieval city of Ávila to see its famous walls first from los cuatro postes, and then up close. You will also see the cathedral, and walk the streets of Spain’s famous mystic – Santa Teresa.
After, head for Segovia, famous for its Roman Aqueduct. You will have lunch followed by a tour of the Cathedral and the Alcázar – some say that Disney designed its castle after seeing this beautiful monument. Return to Madrid for a Flamenco Show and a Tapas dinner. Lodging in your hotel.
Day 8 – Departure
Breakfast. Transfer to the airport for your return flight.
